turbo install woes
I just finished installing my turbo kit last night.... and the car wouldn't start. The starter kicks, and the motor catches and dies less than 1 second later. Immediately, I get a CEL code 3 (map sensor).... but this is at idle. I didn't touch the map, and it's still only at idle so its not due to boost...
This is an h22a... does the same thing using both my hondata and my prelude ecu. Why whould just installing a turbo kit cause a map code? I think this problem is the same problem that doesn't allow me to idle...

Re: turbo install woes (servion)
Did it start when your turbo kit was installed or did it happen before, too? Did you touch any of your vac lines? Especially the one to the map? I had the wrong line connected to me map when I did a swap on the CRX and it would die right after I start it up and won't or barely idle. Hooked the right lines to the right ports and fixed the prob.

update
I didn't touch any of the liens except to hook up the BOV... and it didn't touch the vacuum lines that goes to the map. I returned it to the vacuum configuration that it was at when it ran fine (it ran beautifully before the turbo install)
Well, changed map... no dice. I found that the more vacuum lines I remove from the manifold (i.e., the more vacuum leak I create) the better it idles. With all the vacuum lines attached, it won't idle.... if I remove 1 or 2 liens from the IM, it idles ok. No matter how many of the vacuum lines I have hooked to the IM, the boost gauge stillr eads at 10mmHG......... vacuum leak. But, hooking up the lines still reads 10mmhg, and it runs better. Still have a CEL code 3. I'm running right off the downpipe, and there is no bung for the o2 sensor yet... but I programmed a hondata chip to disable the o2 sensor.... no effect, and still MAP CEL. Please help...

Re: update (servion)
are you sure you have all the right electrical plugs in the right place, i remember reading that some plugs are the same for different sensors

Re: turbo install woes (GudeH23a)
I did not change any of the plugs during the install, and it worked great without any codes all-motor.
I did not inmstall check valves, as I am running hondata. This problem occurs with both the hondata and the stock prelude ecu's hooked up. I am not anywhere near boost... this is all at idle.

Re: turbo install woes (servion)
why would the car ible better as the vacuum leaks increase?
you have a vacuum line installed incorrectly
i would disconect the BOV and vacuum line for the wastegate (if your running a boost controller)
see if it will idle then.
