Default Turbo install questions...

I did a search on this and I found that some people had to shave down part of their block to make the turbo fit. Is this an issue with alot of people? I am goin to be getting a DRAG manifold and a t3/t4e and I wanted to install it myself untill i read sometimes the fitment is not perfect and you have to shave the block down. BTW its going on a 00' GSR.

Thanks

Chase

grinding away a little aluminum is not tough. You would only be trimming a small bit of the reinforcement on the block, not the actual walls that keep the oil n stuff in. You could do it with a sharp file pretty quick if you had to. I'de get at least a dremel tool. Oh and i don't know if you will even have too. Either way don't worry about it. The oiling system is by far the most important part of the install IMO

I had to shave part off with my greddy kit and b16. My block only says B16 on it now...it used to say B16A2. The intake pipe wouldn't connect because the corner of the block was in the way. I just used a drill and grinding wheel...only took a few minutes to get it right.

ok so I could do this myself, keep in mind i have no prior expeirance with turbo installs. I am somewhat machanically inclined sooo...The only other problem I have is the oil return like in the block.... what do I need for that? Do i need to buy an adapter or something?

it really depends on the manifold and the turbo. I had to chop off a portion of the A/C bracket on my car. I obviously can't use the a/c either.
