Block warmer in the way of turbo
A buddy of mine, who lives in Canada, installed a Greddy turbo yesterday. There was a block warmer that ran behind the turbo and made the fit extremely tight. So tight that it cut the block warmer and now there is a leak after the turbo was installed. My suggestion to him is to remove the warmer and install a different one that routes a different way. Is there anyone that has had this experience and has any suggestions? Thanks.

they have the block warmer in canada where it gets hella cold, it's a dealer installed option.....
He should just remove it..unless he actually lives in one of those f'd up arctic regions.

Re: Block warmer in the way of turbo (ajn)
Right now, the weather is a few degrees below zero. The avg low temperature in the winter is from 0 to 5 degrees F. I think having an engine block warmer would benefit him a lot considering how cold that engine/oil will be on days like that.

just tell him to park his car - front side into the snow bank, this will insulate the motor from the wind. get rid of the block warmer and get a pre-oiler or accusump, the block heater just makes cold cranking easier. run better winter oil. that thing must come out - does he actually plug it in?

Re: Block warmer in the way of turbo (rtype11)
I had to remove the block heater with the DRAG kit. there is no way in hell it would fit. Just go back to a dealer and ask for a plug that they remove to put the block heater in. I have started my GSR in -20c with mobil 5w30 with no problems. You can also get 0w30 oil that is even better for cold starts.
depanding on were you live in canada there are not too many days that are colder then that so i would not worry about it being pluged in.

Re: Block warmer in the way of turbo (xbird)
OK I FINALLY FOUND OUT WHAT THAT IS
IT'S CALLED A DRAIN PLUG !!! https://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com
that's where i found it !!! it's under the cylinder block section!
I didn't hesitate at all and order it !!!
I think you might probably be able to get it at your local dealer !
but coz i called my local dealer, they said they don't have it, i would think the 90 % don't have stock of those stuff !
it will take weeks for them to order it !
so i ordered it online without any hesitation !!!
I hope it will arrive ASAP !!!
it cost around 12 bucks plus shipping !
i hope it's worth it !!
