Default Turbo Help-Looking for The Shodan and others!

I am in the process of purchasing a turbo for my build and am stumped. I would like to achieve as close to 475WHP on 93pump gas (race days) and low boost ~340-350 (around town) with my setup. I am not looking for much room to grow, so I'm looking for a turbo that can get me near that mark without an abundance of lag. I've been on numerous sites, talked to numerous tuners, called shops, looked through ALL of Evans Tuning Dyno charts with B series turbos. I've narrowed it down to 3 (Garrett gt3076r with .82A/R-Bullseye S259 ETT with .55A/R- S259 Billet ETT with .70A/R). I am leaning towards the S259 with .55a/r housing in a cast wheel, but any insight would be greatly appreciated!

This is my setup as of now:

Laskey built B16
Fully built 1.8 b16a2

Benson 84mm sleeved blueprinted block
Benson balanced and micro-polished crank
84mm CP pistons and rings(9:1 comp)
Eagle rods
ACL bearings
OEM (Type R) oil pump

PortFlow port & polish
SuperTech Stainless Steel nitride coated valves
SuperTech Dual valve springs
SuperTech Titanium retainers
Competition 3 angle valve job
Victor X Manifold
gsr cams
68mm Throttle body
Go-Autoworks GT3-B single backdoor intercooler
ID 1000 injectors
2.75 charge pipe
Blue Ridge motorsports top mount manifold (T3 flange with 44mm wastegate v-band flange)
Walbro 255 high flow. ( i know I should upgrade this to the new 340)
Hondata s300
LS trans with LSD
CC stage 4 clutch
Tial 44 Wastegate
Tial 50mm BOV
3 inch exhaust
(No downpipe as of yet)

I cannot find a direct comparison between the newer s259 vs gt30r on pump. I've only found the S256...Any knowledge of the spool characteristics of the s259 ETT with or without billett wheel and .70A/R or .55A/R?? Spool time, mid range, and top end vs gt30r with .82 A/R. (Also I called precision and was talking about the precision 5857 with .63a/r)

Just to make it clear for everyone in order to get a better understanding, low boost I would probably achieve just on wastegate spring (~1 bar). This is not a daily driver, but more of a weekend project car. I will rarely be in high boost(race days only) but it would be nice to get as close to 475whp as possible without going to 110 or 116 race gas.

Thanks to all who provide feedback! This is my first build so please give me your honest opinions and facts.

I made just shy of 500whp with a T4 divided S366 at 14lbs. 81.5x87.2 motor, CTR cams and 93 octane. FWIW....

The Shodan will prob recommend the "silver surfer". All around it's a pretty great turbo for your goals.

Gonna beat Shodan to it, I asked him the same question via PM pretty much for my car, this is what he sent me and a few other people. Watch and read, it's great info.

It is a billet wheel 64lbs/min alternative to the original T04S compressor cover that still uses great recovery spool (moreso than even the Precision 6262) and at the same time is capable of over 600whp on race fuel. This still uses the same cartridge and turbine housing as the GEN 2 (Black) Silver Surfer, but has a more aerodynamic and stronger billet compressor wheel. This was tested on several Honda and Mazda models with fantastic results. This can come in a “wet” or “dry” cartridge for no additional charge. $1100 ceramic coated.

This is this Billett STC REAPER

This turbo is 62mm inducer with an 84.2mm exducer billet compressor wheel. This is not a Precision turbo Billet wheel. This was designed by me and an aerodynamic engineer from Univ. of Michigan for Garrett turbochargers to run a bit more efficiently at lower pressure ratios than the Precision unit because of the fact that use reconfigured the splitter blades of the compressor wheel so that it doesn't require as much rotational speed to be more efficient. As a comparison, the GT35R and GT3540S use the standard 61.4mm inducer with an 82mm exducer inconel aluminum compressor wheel.

This makes the turbo capable of over 680whp while still retaining a simple T3/T04S Anti-surge ported-shroud profile.

Notice the polished Backplate holding the compressor wheel and ceramic high heat coated brackets

There is a true ball-bearing version available, as well as modifications to the GT35R.

3076r will do that all day and have the dependability that we all trust, not to mention its a true ball bearing for better transient response

i have a 2.0L and i have 350whp low boost and a little over 500whp on high boost, great response and crazy top end

I'm not saying that the GT3076R isn't a bad choice. I'm also looking at his future needs for that. 475whp on pump gas is pushing it a bit, and is less likely than something slightly larger like 60lbs/min +. Despite Evans dynos, 500whp on a GT3076R needs to be on race fuel for that application. 350whp is one thing.. 475whp is something altogther different. (And this is coming from a GT3076R owner ;-) )

I guess we will see what it puts down on the retune this week, I have a friend who put down 490 on pump gas with nearly identical setup and had no problems

I mean for 475 there really is no need for the extra lag of a 35r sized turbo with the potential of 600+hp.. Even if he hits 460 hp his powerband will be a lot better with 30r than the others

Again, that's based upon how the dyno reads, but eventually that's up to the OP. As I said, not a bad choice, but I think a bit risky on pump 93 octane gas.
