Default turbo gsr headgasket preference?

also interested in block guards, i'm hoping to make around 300 whp

Block guards and thicker head gaskets are an insurance to reach 300whp but if you have a reliable tuner then you wont need either of those parts.

For 300whp B18C1 you don't even have to take the head off the block. Good parts and good tuning will get you more than 300whp reliably on pump gas.

You'll be good with just a stock block. I was pushing 312 hp on 12 psi with the drag kit. Another I know of with a stock gsr with the FullRace kit was pushing 405 on 10 psi. Fully stock block. It's all in the tuning. Make sure you find someone who knows what they're doing.
