Turbo D16Y7 Spark Plug Pictures. Detonation? Need some street tuning advice
Ok setup:
d16y7
log mani
Garrett T25
Running a mere 4psi for the time being. Going to turn up to 8psi when I figure this out and feel comfortable.
Running Crome and street tuning the AFR via PLX M300 wideband.
In crome I'm running the p30 code with the p06 map because there aren't any d16y7 maps. Maybe there is a huge timing difference between the y7 and the p06??
The M300 is damn near brand new.
These are the plugs after about 270 miles.
The one with the specks on it is the number 1 cylinder.
The specks were there from my first basemap and haven't disappeared, but haven't gotten worse since I got the AFR's tuned.
I'm running about 13.8-14.5 at part throttle
Under boost it runs about 11 to 12. Its definately running rich according to my wideband...
but the plugs look lean to me.
I have one degree retard per pound.
Any ideas? The wideband is 24 inches downstream from the turbo like the instructions said.
Don't wanna turn up the boost until I'm sure things are ok.
thanks guys

Yah, definitly do a pull and turn the car off at the point you want a reading. Thats only real way.
