Default spark plug gapping

whats up, im running a b18b at 8psi it is breaking up above 5000 RPM, by breaking up i mean it seem like its missing, not detnoation. i just bought new plugs today and gapped them to .28. is that too much? not enough? should i buy some colder plugs? keep in mind the car is running very rich because it is running on a super rich base map.

i just put the turbo on and need to get it running smoothly before i get it tuned

gap the plugs to 0.022 - 0.024.. but you really shouldnt be boosting on a basemap, not a very good idea at all, particularly if you dont know what your basemap actually looks like

basemap is to get you to your tuner and get the car running right

with your setup you should be fine at .028. Make sure you get it tuned though before you blow it up!

yea i know its not a good idea but who can resist doing it a couple times, its not like i hit it in every gear, every time i drive it, plus im shifting at 5 when i do. i do know the base map, my buddy and i made it

anyhow i got some part numbers at work today and ordered them from NAPA and they will be here tomarrow.

part numbers for ngk plugs are:

old part number (some places still use it): BCPR7ES 11

new part number:1095

so if anyone else is having a simalar problem i hope this helps

^well both are used on a regular basis, the second one is a lil easier to use (because of how short it is and there is less room for mistake because there isn't 100 other plugs that are identical except for one letter/number)

but are those the G-power ones or whatever they are called (the non "V-power")
