Turbo D16
i am buying a eg hatch, i have a b16a block that i am building, my friend let me borrow his turbo zc crx last night and i was impressed, so now i am thinking about turboing the d16 till i get the b16 built, how reliable are these stock engines on low boost (6 - 8 psi)??? does anyone have this? if so, how do you like it?

Nope you would be the first to have a boosted d16.

words of wisdom . . . here's what I say:
" cars are as realiable as the driver/tuner makes them" tuning is always key. I boosted my d16, had a 146k on it. I had boost creep up the *** and was boosting 12psi daily . . . . my motor never once gave me problems.
Compression tested it and got 197psi across the board . . . not bad for a 12 year old motor

I'm always amazed how everyone says they boost 12 lbs on a stock D16. I blew a hole through the block at 10 lbs at an autox 2 years ago. It was pretty cool! I was building a motor at the time so I didn't really care.
The stock rod are so tiny they really can't handle much.
