Default TURBO choice: 60 trim or 57 trim!!

i was wondering what the pros and cons of the same garret t3/t4 turbo with .63 ar turbine but one with 57 trim and one with a 60 trim. what are the differences between the 2. also why is it better to have a 5 bolt turbine housing? thanks for all of the help!!

60 trim wheel is bigger. promotes VE later in the powerband or at higher boost levels. Using it over a 57 trim wheel would induce more lag at the expense of the ability to make more HP and possibly make power later in the RPM band.

5 bolt housing is preferred because it eases fitment.

thanks alot for the help. would the difference between the 57 and 60 be very noticable? i would be running stock internals on a gsr wanting to make around 240-270 tuned with the vafc hack and no more than 8psi. is that reasonable?

The 57 trim doesn't lag nearly as much as believed, though it does have different Volumetric Efficiency as mentioned before. w/ a stock GSR like that, at 8 psi, you should be just fine w/ a .63 a/r

so would going with a 60 not be necessary. i would eventually plan to build the internals a good 6 months later. just cant decide between a 60 and a 57 trim. i dont want the 60 to be too laggy for 7-8 psi stock internals
