Default Turbo Car over heat issue

92 Civic 1/2 size aluminum radiator..... 2 fans...pusher (always on ) puller comes on w/ temp switch .....pretty big/thick intercooler...block gaurd.....170 temp thermostat......new water pump....i eliminated the heater core....so i basically do not have the heater core in the car anymore....i put a autometer water temp gauge to see wut kind of temps im running...im at 215-235 regularly.....driving on the highway long distances...it goes up to 250.....

couple people recomended drilling holes in the thermostat...others said eliminate it...from my knowledge the water pump does need some back pressure.....so i didnt want to eliminate it....

i also figured since i got rid of the heater core...its that much less coolant in the system.....

anyone have any ideas or expereince with a problem like this

i am having the exact same problem i tried drilling holes in thermostat, i tried removing it, i tried straight water, i tried water wetter, i tried bigger radiator, i tried jacking my hood up , i tried making a fan shroud, i tried 3 different fans, i tried running a fan all the time, i applied vacuum to the system to eliminate air.

your description is identical to mine. i would say if there is no air than try jacking up the hood. that was a huge improvement. the next best was a fan shroud.

do you have a liquid cooled turbo? this is where i think i messed up. on an h22 the ports in the front of the block are coolant, not drainback. i welded some -6 an fitings on these and ran coolant to my turbo from there. i then ran it right back into the block. i think i am just getting the block too hot.

my next thing i am doing is adding a small oil cooler (using it for a radiator) after the turbo and then return into the block. if that does not help iam going to feep the cooler there and run the return into the top of the radiator, bypassing the block.

i hope that was help, i am int he same boat

all i got is an oil cooled turbo...not water cooler...so that would be no help...the only thing i am thinkin of doing is cutting a square hole on my bumper and right behind that part is the top of my radiator.....it would be air coming str8 to it......

should i even bother drilling holes in the thermostat or not.?

thanks alot for the info man....

iunno dude youre tryin to take all these crazy measures, but i think that the turbo alone wouldnt make a diff at cruising speeds. did u bleed the cooling system yet? maybe when u installed the rad u didnt bleed?
