Default Turbo build project help

Ok im just looking for some guidance on what I should run...I have a 98 hatch with a 98 GSR in it...

Edit: Goal is 350+ hp...

Im going to run a 60-1 hifi
cast iron manifold
precision 550 injectors
walbro 255lph intank fuel pump
tial 38mm wastegate
hondata s300
checker lifetime axels incase I break them
aries forged pistons
eagle forged rods
block guard
not sure on the clutch/flywheel combo
not sure on the bov yet
not sure on the intercooler yet
some sort of launch kit (eventually)

Im wondering what else you guys think would be smart to run on the car...I want to do it right, leave nothing out so it runs strong...it will see track duty and will be my street car also...

whats your hp goal? 60-1 seems a little big compared to the rest of your info, if your shooting less than 400hp than you will have plenty of lag(turbo to big) It seems that everyone on HT runs a 60-1 or 62-1, and I've seen a kid on here with a sig that says 60-1 @6psi. Man I would rather run a smaller turbo, than a turbo that's to big for my goal/requirements. But I don't know what your looking for, so please enlighten us!!

Im looking for 350+

I have a friend that ran a 60-1 with a AFC hack and made 325...In discussing it with him he was telling me that there was not a lot of lag actually...

Catch can and a good pcv setup. Some people say you don't need it, some say you do. I look at it this way, it doesn't cost a lot and it's worth the insurance. You may want to go with larger injectors if you haven't already picked them up, assuming you plan to go beyond 350 whp.

Well about the injectors, my buddy made 325 with 310's...im not sure what the duty load was on them but I would think that the 550's would be ok enough for that power...also what are you talking about the pcv setup?

get 720's because you're easily going to max a 310....you would be fine w/ 550s but if you want room to grow, get the 720s

General rule of thumb is that you can support 1hp per 5cc on stock fuel pressure

I was only suggesting larger injectors so you can grow into them. If you are sure you won't go over 350 whp...then I think you'd be ok. I got 550 and now I wish I would have gone larger.

As for the pcv...read this https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1199935 thread. It's very long, but it is very informative. I have a feeling most of the oil drain problems people have result from this.

Well that is one piece of information that I did not know...thanks for the info...I bought 550 injectors not too long ago and still have yet to put them in the car cause its not built yet, so im pretty much stuck with them for now...thats why my mind is pretty set on them...not much I can do, plus my money is tied up in other places...I know I could sell them but I will just give them a shot and see where I land...

You know I will probably end up in the same situation as you, wanting more power after I start to make it...but thanks for the thread I will have to check it out when I have some time later on today...
