Cheapest way will be by using an FMU.

Yes that is the cheapest way, but not if the motor blows. Find a shop that chips computers and tunes them in your area. That is gonna cost a little more because you will need a jumper harness to convert to obd1 and a obd1 ecu but alot safer in the long run

find a tuner that does crome and they can tune you then burn a chip, thats cheapest way to do it right

i think that is what he implyed though

and an FMU wouldnt be tuning it, just hacking it to make it work but it certainly doesnt work correctly

Ehh its a way of "tuning" but not parameters that are measured by any certain degree of accuracy. Just adding fuel doesnt really make me sleep better at night lol but some ppl have good luck with it.
As far as ECU tuning goes, ya getting a chip burnt thru chrome would be their most inexpensive route.

You would need to find a local/reputable tuner and let him know that you are wanting to get your car tuned.

Yes because your current ecu is obd2. You need an obd1 ecu with obd2 to obd1 conversion harness. Most tuners have socketed ecu's that they would sell you.

CromePro, eCtune or neptune. Cheapest softwares out now.

Crome if you are really cheap. If you want something thats actually better then homodata.. use eCtune or Neptune RTP's both great programs.

Crome just got updated as well, 1.6.2 is out.
