Default Transmission Techs

Just wondering because my tranny is messed up for now, but what would cause the teeths on my differential ring gear and the part on the counter shaft that it rides on break???

96 ls with 107,000k drag kit boosting 6.5psi since 102,500, using honda mtf, clutch master stage 3 since 60,000k. I really dont beat it too much.

Could mis-shifts/hard downshifts caused this, excessive heat causing gears to weaken. I need to know what I can do to prevent this in the future after the transmission rebuild.

I'm thinking it may be excessive heat. After driving around in traffic and this hot weather/turbo heat my transmission starts to act funny. I dont have any problems shifting into gears, other internal parts looks normay for a transmission w/ 107,000k on it.

I've never seen broken teeth on ring and pinion gears to break, except in cases of lots of power and/or big slicks.

btw, if it becomes hard to shift after hot, its probably not the trans, most likely you have slave cylinder going bad.

Do you think 205whp and 195ft/lbs a lot of power at 6.5psi, I see other guys around here hitting a lot more to the wheels and no tranny problems

Since its been turbo charged I've only street raced about 8 total times/launches. When the tranny started to go I didnt really beat on the tranny, just normal driving boosting high every once in a while to past cars.

Could of been caused when I let my friends use it to go to the store.
I think that may be the culprit but I cant say for sure.

More than likely the culprit. Your best friends are the worst people to let drive your car.
