So I took my turbo kit off yesterday and drove it around today a bit and the car smokes 10 times worse than with the turbo and it backfires and leaves a HUGE cloud of smoke when I shift.....WTF!!!!!! I thought taking the kit off would help it til I could rebuild a motor but I guess not.

what color is the smoke. cause I know when my friend melted a piston from detenation. it smoke a lot.

well it was dark out....can't tell the color but it was white before, I thinks its more black...i'll have to double check tomorrow

I still have the walbro 255hp but I have a Aeromotive FPR set to stock psi, so its not like its overpressurizing the system. I'm getting a code 43=fuel system error/malfunction???? wtf???

i thin kits teh rigns.. check ur exaust manifold, exaust ports on teh head, etc.. if you see oil deposits then ur burning oil.. you can also do a leak down test

why would it smoke even more with less cyclinder pressure and strain on the motor???

well I think the code may have something to do with you smoking were you using an fmu before or what?

Fuel system code, and you said probally black smoke, so it's most likely fuel related. Throw on the stock reg and pump if you still have them.

damn 14.5@100? lol someone has a traction problem :-P as for the smoking see if its blue smoke if its blue you're burning oil. if it isn't maybe you blew the cat up lol i dunno

black smoke can also be oil leaking from rings or valve seals. i had that happened and it was the rings

I had a fmu, but its off now.....I would change the pump if it wasn't a bitch to drop the tank! Maybe I'll have time this week-end, hopefully I still have all the pieces and parts for the fpr and pump.
