Too Hott H22 ? Code 11???
So I'm stumped. Can't figure this out. Here is a quick run dow n of what is going on. On what seems to be "warmer days" (low 80's +) The car will throw a check engine light. The code appears to be a #11. Now that just didn't sound rite. So I assumed it has to be a 2 codes. #10 & #1 . I checked the wiring, replaced the o2. After 20min of driving. Light back on still code #11.
Now what is troubling me is, it will only do it on warm days. ALSO once you have driven the car for almost 1 hour, you can fry an egg on the hood. The i/c pipping is hott even the IM is very Hott. Just SUPER HOTT!
One thing to mention, the temp guage never rises above the normal setting. Even though the entire enginebay is hotter than an over, temp gauge reads normal.
So things we have tried. Hood spacers. Maybe letting some of the hot air out will help? (No didn't help at all)
Removing the drivers side head light to allow more air in, and push out hott air. (No that didn't help either)
So..Questions.
1) Is code #11 a real code and what to do to clear it.
2) How hot should a Top Mount manifold get?
3) is it normal for turbo set ups to get extreamly hot?
The Set-up
Sleeved H22 with Top ount & SC61 turbo, tuned on S300 @ about 10psi pump gas.
and pics...

Re: Too Hott H22 ? Code 11???
I got a code 11 once or twice when driving. It's a real code. I have a top mount and a similar setup but a b series. First, it doesn't look like you have a fan on the radiator...if it's on the outside, move it to the inside and use it as a puller. Second, do you have a thermostat? When mine was overheating, I didn't have one at all, so I installed one and swapped my fan around and it doesn't overheat at all.
The temperature gauge on the cluster is not very accurate. Hook a computer up to the hondata and see what temperature it says.

It will be hard to keep that thing cool. s300 has overheating protection so if gets to the preset temp in hondata it will throw a code. Best thing to do is log it
