Default Timing too advanced?

I have a t3 60trim on B18C1 with uberdata.

Timing is 17.25 (low cam) and 23.25 (hi cam) from 5k upward @ 10 psi. Anyone running similar timing? Is this conservative enough?

I don't wanna blow my engine (yet!)

that's quite a bit. Low cam is conservative and hi cam is a bit aggressive without a dyno. I'd stay around 19-20 without a dyno. 21 if you know how to check everything. Check your plugs frequently at first for any signs of detonation and to see if the ground strap is correct

thanks for the reply!

I guess maybe I am running too aggressive. Anyone else?

This is my plugs:

Now I'm a lil worried

I'm gonna have dyno day on sunday, got 3 pulls, what are some of the timing you suggest me to run.

Btw, when you say 19* it's for hi cam right?

yup 19* high cam timing. try 19* first then when ur on the dyno add 1 * timing, if the TQ increases then try to add another 1/2 - 1 degree. once the tq does not increase, back off the timing by like 2* to keep the motor safe

if the motor is built w/ low compression pistons and/or bigger displacement than 1.8liter, then i say 26* aint that bad. but for a stock motor, 26* at 10psi seems a bit too much timing

Do a pull.. shut off around 5500 rpms and pull the plugs.. see if there's any specks of anything on them. If there is.. back off the timing and do it again.

well it cant be that bad, pending on how many miles you have ran, your motor hasnt blown YET!

Ok. So for Hi cam, I will start from 19* on the dyno.

I wonder whether the low cam matters at all beyond vtec transition, but how much timing do you guys run @10 psi?

So you just arbitrarily set all turbo'd Honda's to 19* BTDC @ 10psi eh?
