Default Timing belt issues

My timing belt is riding off the cams by about 1/4 of an inch. What did I do wrong? I have retensioned the belt over and over but it always moves out about 1/4" and rubs on my timing belt cover? My car is a 2001 GSR Turbo with a built bottom end and the head is done with all Ferrea valve train. I tried both the stock cam gears and aftermarket with no change in the position. Someone please help. no one in the Tech section is replying to me.

yeah it was resurfaced. I had the builder b18bturbo use a head gasket to make up the difference that was milled though. I was told it was to the stock level now with the thicker gasket.

the reason i asked is that if the machine shop did not get the head level in the milling machine more material could have been removed from one side of the head (no. 1 cylinder side) which would cause the belt to try to ride off of the cam gears. another suggestion is to check and make sure the timing belt washers are
on each side of the crankshaft gear

even if I did not use the washers on the cams why would the belt be rubbing on my cover? It rubs all over the cover.

Crank alignment spacers are missing or installed incorrectly.

I know you didn't touch these, but it sounds to me like the spacers that surround the timing belt on the crank side are installed wrong, or missing.

Either that or you have the worst case of crank-walk I have ever heard of. Almost 1/4"!!
