Default ticking noise.. what could be the problem

well i have a fully built d16z6 and im running 750cc injectors. also i have a swirl polish 1mm larger intake valves. i hear some kind of tick, i know its not a stock motor, so it shouldn't sound like one. i did a valve adjustments a few time and still have this tick. my car runs fine and last time i did a compression test i got 175 across the board. i currently have 6k miles on it. could it be lmas? or injector ticking? i only hear it during idle, but when i go cruising i don't hear any type of ticking or anything.

yes, more than likely your injectors. let it idle so you can hear the clicking and take a long socket extension and put one end on you ear and the other on each of your injectors you should be able to hear it real well. if it’s your injectors don't worry about it. my 450's are loud as hell.

Could be LMAs, I've seen them get stuck and make ticking sounds when not engaged. Do you still hear the ticking when you hit Vtec?

i have a similar problem. except my ticking speeds up with rpm. does yours? could mine still be the injectors? valves were adjusted. only started making the noise after 750cc install. how do i listen with a socket extension? did you mean a long reach socket?

Most healthy Injectors make a "ticking" noise.
