My car ticks like a ************ ever since I went turbo... I think my 680cc and whatnot are making all the racket, since my valves are adjusted properly.

The ticking noise could be your injectors when they are firing. When my car is idling you can hear the injectors firing causing the ticking noise. If the ticking is real loud it could be your valves. When was the last time you had your valves adjusted?

You can hear it the most once you start driving in each gear. I never had my valve adjusted since I put in the turbo (car has 20K Miles and about 2K on turbo). If the noise is from the valve, is it b/c it's bend and if so is that expensive to fix? I have 440cc injectors and I haven't heard this noise until a few days ago. thanks for everyone's info. Keep it coming

i know this has been posted before cuz someone told me to try this test...............
use a long screwdriver and put it on the valve cover with your ear up to the handle part and listen for the ticking........... then put it on an injector........... ive noticed the ticking is much much louder on the injector...........

Naw, its soft at idle, but once u start driving, you can hear that thing.. tick tick tick.. if you have the stereo off, you can hear it quite clearly. I'm getting my valves checked tomorrow but just wanted to see if anyone had this problem before.

Re: Engine making ticking noises???? (Mr.DC2TurBo)
Most Bseries motors have the tick to them. Do a valve adjustment it will help. My friend just got the new honda tuning magazine and they were saying to get rid of the bseries tick is re torque the head down. i don't know if this will work.

I hope it's just the valves not adjusted and not a bent valve. What happens if the valves are bent?</TD></TR></TABLE>
$150 thats a little bit expensive we do it for like $50 with a OEM gasket

thats wat I thought but I have been taking my **** to them all the time and if anything goes wrong with the stuff that they fix or install it's free to repair.

Re: (Mr.DC2TurBo)
thats good that they take care of you but any good shop should do that for a customer
but if that is where you are going to tkae it then thats good your trust them and see how it works out from there

How difficult is it to do a valve adjustment on an LS head? I've never done any work on my engine, just electrical, bolt ons, suspension, etc.. With a Helms and a couple tools is there a great probability that I can teach myself without breaking anything?

Re: (mskibbz-T)
mine does the same thing....ever sine i put the after market springs and cam in the head is really loud, i figure its just the bigger cam with stiffer springs causing the valve train to run loud....but i doubt u have to much to worry about hondas all have that noise mine did stock but its louder with the aftermarket parts....

i know on the vtec heads there is a special tool that holds the flat head while you turn the lock nut off but you can get away without using it
