i was told my throw out bearing is going bad but i think it would make a big noise when accelerating, not at boost.

This sounds off the wall but you aren't running an electronic boost controller are you?

we went fishing 40 min drive from home and 40min back, i was beating it a few times to see if boost and all was normal. on the way back it started making that noise only at boost with a few loud backfire at vac but i've heard that noise in recent times, not always. car is untuned on fmu, all stock fuel except for walbro intank. this morning i took it out for a spin and ran fine without the noise or backfires. could it be the oil pressure or too hot? put 4.5 qt 10w30 a while back. my friend says the car is not getting enough fuel or when it does, too much.

no boost controler yet, just 5psi off the compressor housing. throwout bearing pitch is the same through out all gears but noise goes away when clutch pedal is pressed to engagement point. couldn't it bee not enough oil and rings scraping? not engine light either.

Sounds like detonation to me as well.

I said boost controller because all the EBC's I have had have a very loud solenoid and a lot of people think something is broke when the car crosses from vacuum to boost and you can here the solenoid start raising hell.

Do you happen to have an EGT gauge in the car and notice what the temps were getting to?

i only have a boost gauge, been running the oil for about 2k now. engine temp is fine. could it be oil pressure/temp too high?

No. You're probably detonating in boost-- not enough fuel, or too much timing. Junk the FMU and get it tuned.

I recall reading you still have stock injectors and an UNTUNED motor.

I wouldn't boost on this until you get it tuned with some better injectors, as all have said before, probably detonation if it doesn't do it at idle and cruising also.
