Default tial wg question (fire ring)

if anyone is awake right now i really need to know what part of the wg bolts onto the manifold. is it the part with the fire ring (bottom) or the side part. i just cant remember. thanks

P.S almost forgot. is the fire ring on the wg supposed to sit flat or does it go the other way. thanks

dunno what you mean flat into the wg....you put it under the wastegate and bolt it down, it will raise the inside valve up 1/4inch if that......i remember i installed mine with out the fire ring when i first got it....hahhah...i was pissed off thought i got beat out of a WG

The valve seat will seat flush in there. If you put it in backwards, the valve won't close all of the way.
