Default tial wategate vacuum source question

Can i use the top banjo bolt on my wastegate as the vacuum source? My side one is to close to the manifold and wont fit. And when installing the manual boost controller should i just T into that one line going to the wastegate?

You need to use the side port of the wastegate, assuming you are using a single stage boost controller.

Yes, you tee it into the vacuum line between the wastegate and boost reference source.

waste gates dont use a vacuum source they use a positive pressure source.

tap your compressor housing and use that to provide pressure to the waste gate.

The vacuum manifold you have is probably tee'd off your brake booster line, which IS a vacuum source at idle, but when boost pressure builds in the intake manifold and becomes a positive pressure source, the wastegate works like its supposed to. Compressor housing or IM, doesn't really matter.

technically the wg should work either way but the manufactuerer suggest not applying vacuum to the wastegate diaphragm because it could possibly be damaged.

OP, when using an mbc you only use the side port of the wastegate. the top port can be left open.

side port of wastegate to bottom of mbc
side port of mbc to boost source. (vac mani will suffice, just not the "correct" way)

This is gonna depend on the brand of MBC he's using, as some brands have the inlet fitting on the bottom of the controller, and the outlet fitting on the side.

Yup, Hallman & Blox.

I ran the Blox Pro for 2 years, and I was surprised at how solid it holds boost.
