Hook up the vac to the side of the wastegate. The top is used for boost controller.

yup, the top is for an electronic boost controller though, the bottom , you can put a manual one in line with the vac line . just to add a little more info in there.

I'm finishing up a turbo kit install and its been about 4 years since I've been boosted myself so I'm trying to remember if I have all my vacuum lines connected right.. I'd appriciate it if someone could check over my work that has a boosted setup currently.... I'm also curious what spring the 38mm tial wastegates usually come with from the factory?? The owner of this car is new to boost (plus has a stock gsr engine) so I wanted to start him off with 6-7psi or so until he becomes a little more knowledgeable to how boost works, whats safe, etc... On my test drive, boost climed up around 7-8psi where I then let off the gas so it wouldn't go any higher (again the guys car is completely stock) so I'm guessing the stock spring is the Small Blue 8.70psi one if not larger... Anyone know? I don't want this guy boosting more than 7psi right now until he's at least tuned, etc...

Anyhow, here's my line diagram... (hopefully its right)

Parts: Tial 38mm Wastegate - Turbo XS Standard Boost Controller

* I have a line running from the turbo nipple (boost source) to the side of the boost controller (gray) nipple.

* I have a line running from the bottom of the boost controller (blue) nipple to the side of the wastegate.

* top wastegate nipple is open (connected to nothing)

* BOV line T's into a line off the Throttle Body

* Boost Gauge is T'd into the FPR

I'm a little unsure about how I have the lines connected to the boost controller... I know the boost source line (coming from turbo compressor housing) needs to go to the INLET of the boost controller though I can't tell which nipple is the inlet and outlet... Anyone using the Turbo XS boost controller that can tell me how you have your lines ran...

Thanks for the help in advance..

You CAN use an MBC in conjunction with the top port [I am doing it now] but it's *** backwards and way more confusing than just running it inline with the side port.
