I've been wondering about this I know the general stuff about them and I'm looking to buy one for my setup. This is what I know so far, quality of the welds, what it's pressure tested too, name brands. But how can you tell if the intercooler is good if your just judging by a picture (i.e. buying online) you can't tell how good it's cooling properties are without buying it so? Also the fins and I read in a thread that someone vaguely was talking about the construction of the interior of the intercooler how do you know if that is heat effiencent? Like what makes a good intercooler and what makes a bad one that's pretty much what i'm asking.

rounded endtanks tend to be more efficient. theres two types of intercoolers, tube and fin, and bar and plate. bar and plate are usually used for higher horsepower applications, but will work fine for whatever. try to pick something thats the right size for your needs, aka dont get a 30x12x3 for 200whp,
