tial wastegate question...........
ok, this is a dumb question, but i just want to make sure. On a tial 35mm wastegate there are two 1/8 npt holes, one on top and one on the lower side. the way i figure it is the top hole is where u run the vaccume hose if you are using the certain ## spring inside the wastegate. And the hole on the side is where u run the vaccume hose if you have a boostcontroller, essentially bypassing the spring. Please let me know if im right or not, i bought it used and dont have the directions. Thanks
are you absolutely sure, the guy i bought it off of was running a boost controller, and the lower hole has the 1/8 fitting in it. Maybe he was running more boost than the spring ##. Im not sure, thanks for the reply
I was wondering the same thing when I put my boost controller on. I ended up putting the boost controller on the top fitting, and it works.
You have them switched.
FOR SURE!
You run a line from your intake mani to the side port of the wastegate.
This will only allow you to boost realative to the wastegate spring(i.e. .45 bar)
If you are using a MANUAL boost controler you can run it inline, from the side port to the manifold, but that's a different issue.
To my knowledge you only use the top port if you are using an electronic boost controller.
hope that helps, and watch your gauges!
