And are there any alternatives like one made from stainless steel? I tried no gasket but it still leaks...

Yes that is it, but to tell you the truth I personally don't run one because they burn out eventually. I would just make sure you have a nice flat surface on the wastgate flange and just bolt your wastegate on, metal to metal.

I have ran it that way on my car and on friends cars and it seems to work better than replacing those dumb gaskets all of the time..

But senc you do say that you have tried it without a gasket maybe you should look around and see if you can make one out of a thin metal or copper..
Other than that I don't know who sells one besides the crappy ones that burn out..

http://www.cheapturbo.com has them or you can use like a pop can, just trace it and cut it with a razor blade.

Check with a straightedge and feeler gauge to make sure the flange is flat on the manifold.

you're right, I've blown 3 Tial ones pretty much straight away on the street and this one in the pic held up on street use but lasted only a little longer on the circuit as it finally split in half due to high rpm over an extended period of time....

I don;t know why I even bother replacing them anymore.....Thing is I tried without but it just seems to be leaking somewhere no matter how much I tighten it. As far as I can see the surface is flat (Maxrev mani), although to the eye can be deceiving but I'm assuming that they should all be flat when they came out the engineering shop? I don;t really wany to start filing it as I could do more harm than good!

Im not sure if this would work but how about some of that sealent that is used when you bolt your valvecover back on. That rubbery, silicon type of stuff.

Ive been using that gasket you put up with the fire ring. I bought all my gaskets from road race engineering. No leak or burned out gasket.

Hondabond won't work on a manifold, it gets way to hot for it, but like I said either try to find a thin metal **** the one used on the stock header to head gasket and put it inbeween there.

Did you make sure the O ring on the tial seats right??

The flange on the manifold has to be worped for all of those gaskets to go bad on ya, an even better idea is to take the manifold off, take it to a machine shop and tell them to resurface that flange for ya thats on the manifold, so you have a flat surface to work with.

If that doesn't work the ring is probably bent or warped but I highly doubt that happen...

Hope that helps..

Im surprised no one makes something like a metal gasket for it, similar to a crush washer. *shrugs*

Hi-Temp Copper spray 2 or 3 coats on the bottom of the wastegate, then install the wastegate when tacky... Think that'll help.
