Default Think I have a vacuum leak?

What should the pressure read on the VAFC at idle?

its not in PSI, thats why I ask......

its in hg/mm

plus i thought 20psi was about right for a turbo gsr.

mine reads about -500 to -550 at idle i believe

how much should it read during boost with a missing link? It should be zero right? mine reads about -45 when my car is boosting. I just replaced some of my vacuum lines, could it be a vacuum leak?

the AFC will be diriving its pressure from input on the map sensor, if it is reading ~50 Mm/hg (Millimeters of mercury) that's pretty close to 0 psi, which i would think is about accurate.

now if that reading decreased while constantly under boost, then your missing link/check valve setup is leaking boost to the map...which it doesen't seem like it's doing.

At idle, depending on your compression it will be ~400 - ~600 Mm/hg.

If you still suspect you have a vacuum leak and you REALLY want to make sure, you can build a presure testing device, and pressurise the whole intake system and listen for air leaks.

lazerus... Before i put in my new motor it always read 0 when i was at boost. I'm not exactly sure but i think it was 0 after i installed my motor but I just notice the new prs reading after installing the new vacuum lines. It seems to run fine other than that. I have one other question though the thrt volt reading under sensor reads .48-.49 I was reading on the hondata site that the tps should be .45v exactly. Is that reading for the tps? If so is that hurting my engine at all?

i figured out why my prs setting wasn't reading zero. I was up in western md this whole weekend and the altitude effected the pressure reading on the afc. As i was coming back home the prs setting got closer and closer to zero. And now its back to normal.

it takes line 5min and $5 to make a leak tester...just go to home depot/lowes and get a pvc pipe cap in whatever size your i/c pipe is, then get a brass nipple with threads on the other size.....drill a hole in the end of the cap and screw the nipple in then put some jbweld around it to ensure it doesnt leak...then take an i/c pipe off the tighten down the pvc to the other side of the rubber coupling.... then hook a rubber line from the nipple to the end of a blower attactment on an air compressor...blow the air in and watch your boost guage and stop when its at whatever boost you want and listen for leaks.

Some people shouldn't be allowed to use a SAFC.

At idle you should have vacum, not nothing (0 psi) or boost (20 psi!?).
