Re: are these compression numbers good. (arsenaldragster)
so is there a problem. should i be woried.
i belive the head was milled when i had it built. no sure how much.
i could check my notes.
i just took it out for the 1st time and really got on it. car only has 500 miles on it. and 6psi. WOW. really fun. 1st gear is usless. . i need my fuel pump and my new injectors so i can bump this up bit. .
so anyway let me know about this compression. is it a issue.
thanks everyone.

well on my h23 when it blew , i ran a compression test and got 195 195 0 195, minus the zero they were pretty high and im running arias 8.5:1's, now remember that the #'s you get from a compression tester shows you how well the cylinder is "sealing" not what compression ratio you, but with a lower comp ratio you can expect to see slighty lower #'s and vice versa with a higher comp. ratio.

well the difference from 8.5 and 10.6 is pretty damn big and having a difference of say 30psi could be the difference in CR but like imentions above do a leak down and see the differnce

Re: are these compression numbers good. (platinum00)
If you got the head milled, that would have caused it. Sometimes they put a shim in there to prevent the increased compression. (not sure if they do that for all cars)
