Default thermostat for 99 civic si

whats a good aftermarket thermostat for a 99 civic SI. Something that opens sooner than a stock one to help keep temps more stable.

what other options do i have besides spoon or mugen?

thx
Ryan

Go to Kragen and get a 180 or 190 degree one. Any colder and the ecu is adding cold fuel enrichment.

You sure bout that? I have a jackson in my D series, running around 160 degrees temp, normal driving. My wideband, still reads a nice 14.5 and normal low 11's for afr under boost.

Positive. Ecu adds cold fuel enrichment at anything below 170.

just because the thermostat is openeing at 160 doesnt mean the motor will run at that, especially on hot summer days. my car runs around 210 with one of these in there, it ran at about 218 with the stock 180 degree thermostat. I also need a bigger radiator...damn florida head

If your temps are higher than the thermostat, then that means it is always open. This means that you cooling system is not up to the task.

You are right, you need a bigger radiator or maybe simple maintanence.
