Default Thermostat

What would be a good thermostat to use for the summer months when the air is pretty dry and the weather on average is between 85-100 degrees during this time? Has anybody tried running without a thermostat during summer? What are the pros and cons?

D16 with minor bolt ons. Soon to be boosted however. Why not run a thermostat? Will my motor actually stay cooler? I was told not running one during the winter months will keep my heater from making enough hot air to keep the cabin warm.

without the stat your just gonna run very rich an the motor is not really gonna warm up. and it is possible to run to rich when this happens you get the same effects of preignition and detenation

Running rich would seem to be a bad thing for me, am I right? You still say dont run one. Im confused? Why not use one if this is the case?

NO im saying you NEED one at all times no matter what the weather conditions. running without it is bad for your engine. the reason racecars dont run one is because they are constantly moving at a high speed if your car is a DD you need the stat
