Default Thermo wrap intake piping?

I popped my hood after some intense driving and noticed that my intake piping was very warm. Its picking up heat from my engine. Is it ok to thermo wrap my intake piping to the intercooler? Will this help keep it cold?

It will help the pipe reject the ambient temps in the engine compartment, but maybe your intercooler isn't cooling the charge enough. When I first put my turbo on in Jan or Feb, the piping after the IC was cool, even after medium to hard driving for many hours and an hour and a half of dyno testing. Lately, with the weather (in SoCal), the pipe is hot, nearly as hot as the turbo outlet pipe. There is no harm in wrapping the after-intercooler pipe, but since the velocity of the charge doesn't allow much for heat transfer in the pipe, it may be a waste of time and money.....my $.02.......
