Default Is there a good way to clean rust out of the water jackets in a block?

I'm slowly trying to gather parts to build an engine, and I saw a block for sale that had rust in the water jackets. When I send the block out to get it sleeved, and they clean the block, would it be possible to get the rust removed? Thanks.

I doubt it's rust, it's propably oogle from the coolant. Just rinse it off or uses a hugh pressure rinse from local car wash and spray in along the water jacket.

YOu may want to take out the big 20mm bolt on the front of the block to the left of the oil dipstick to get all the rinsed water/coolant out..

on me. Why didn't I think of that? But I wonder what the orange coloration in the water jacket was. Hmmmmm..... anyways, guess I'm on my way to building an engine. Thanks!

when you get your block sleeves, they will cleaned it anyway. They will cut the stock sleeve and press in the aftermarket one and while doing that, they get all all the excess from the previous uses of it.
