Tapping intake manifold

What sort of fittings did you guys use to tap the intake manifold? How did you do it; using a drill?

I'm thinking I need (5): wastegate, bov, boost controller, boost gauge, extra

A drill and a 1/8th NPT tap

then use a 1/8th NPT to a vacuum nipple brass fitting from auto parts store

Tap it anywhere on the plenum that is flat and has clearance for the fitting and vacuum line.
