Default Tach problem. Started when Hondata was installed....PLEASE HELP.

I posted this under another post w/ little results, so here it is again...

I recently installed hondata w/ a P06 ecu in my LS. When I run the car the tach goes wacky at 5500. I dont know if its only at WOT, its hard to get that high at partial throttle.

Anyway, it started exactly when hondata was installed. My tuner has no idea, and Hondata says its a bad coincidence and its a probably a problem w/ my dizzy or ignitor, but i doubt it. Also, I found another guy w/ a LS on the Hondata forum that had the same problem, but never fixed it. Leading me to think it is related to Hondata.

Any thoughts.

its most likely your timing or fuel curve that needs to be adjusted

Nevermind, i thought the car was hesitating or seomthing, once you explained it on PM, it sounds like its purely electrical BS. weird.

Hopefully someone else will shed some light on this.

I had the same problem. Car would run like normal, but the RPM needle would go all over the place. I changed the ignitor (i think that's what u call it in english) inside of the distributor and its all okay now.
