Default T25 on B20?

Well I have the chance to get the HKS Mani+DP, and everyone wants $$$ for their GReddy turbo's. So iv seen a few T25's for sale and wonder if its too little for the B20. Im not looking for insane power, around 230WHP at the most (would be my 1st turbo motor) and was curious how many of you had success with a T25 on a B-Series. Im sure I would have awesome spool for a daily driver and still have some good upper rpm power.

So how many of you are using a small turbo on a B-Series and still putting out 200+whp?

I wouldn't want a turbo that small on my stock d16.

Well SR20's use the same turbo. Im pretty sure it can net me around 200ish. I just want to see how many have done it.

Thanks for the link. The only one I found when he wasnt using the T28 was when he was asking about a DSM T25 which is very small. I beleive the Nissan/Garrett T25 is bigger. My freind has an SR20 (T25) and it looks to be bigger than my freinds 14b.

Well, at what PSI would you be looking for this 230WHP?, because it is doable.
The T28 is a hybrid of a T3 compressor/wheel, w a T25 turbine housing/wheel. If you have the option, I would go this route. I used a .86 A/R T25 turbine housing, (the biggest NON-HKS T25 turbine housing available), on a non-BB turbo, and the spool was still SICK. No fall off up top at all.
Also, I was using some of Rocket's cams, a Skunk2IM, open DP, and an ECU tuned(chipped) by Mr. J. Davis himself.
I was able to make 210WHP at 6psi. This was only at around 6KRPM.
The torque curve was incredible, with 175Lb/Ft from 3500 and up, peaking at 190.
Sick power for only 6PSI.
Anyway, used Nissan SR20DET T25s are usually pretty beat. They pretty much ALL have a .60a/r T25 turbine housing w/ either a .80a/r T25 compressor, or a .60a/r T3 compressor (yes, making them T28s) s14s and s15 are rumored to have T04B compressor housings, with the same 60trim T3 wheel, but I'm not sure on this.

Anyway, with all that being said. Go T3(turbine housing) if you want it nice and easy...
But these turbos (T28s) are awesome for street hondas on lower boost levels.

If you decide this is the route you are going to take, feel free to IM me. I have helped out a bunch of people with these setups, and I'd be glad to walk you through it. I wish there was someone around to answer my questions when I was doing this.

Well I can get a new T25 for cheap. Would it be possible to swap out the compressor housing if its to small for a bigger one with the same wheel?

Well, lemme just say, choosing a turbo becuase it's cheap is a bad start to a turbo project. Aks me how I know this. You'll end up spending more down the road if you don't just do it right the first time.
That being said, SR20 turbos are great turbochargers (new), and the setup is certainly doable, however,
:The HP numbers you wanted are probably not doable at the pressure level a stock bottom ended B20 would be comfortable with...
They may be, but it's be gonna be over 7psi, probably closer to 9or10, which makes me just a lil nervous with B20 sleeves.
As for swapping compressor housings, and keeping the same wheel, not worth it. You might as well just use the housing the wheel was designed for. As for upgrading both, just buy a new damn turbo...
Anyway, feel free to IM me with specific questions.

Ran a stock DSM T-25 on a B20a5 for two years..... This was back in 97'... I did buy it cause it was cheap and Ludespeed had not built the T3 manifold yet. Engine was extremely responsive and low end was fun, However ran out if steam at higher rpms. Ran 10psi with fmu etc...

Id recommend investing in an appropriately sized turbo for your setup...You will wish you had later.
