T-25 help! Overboosting!
Before I put on my turbo the actuator arm felt really stiff, I could get it to move, but I would have to put a lot of force on it, (internal wastegate) but I went and installed it anyways. Now instead of boosting the 8 psi its more like 15 psi. So my question is, is there a way to fix this without haveing to get a new wastegate and taking the turbo off the car? I know its a T25, is this a common problem?
Also on the way home from the tuner (Hour and half drive) I heard a popping noise when I shifted @ around 8 psi. I believe that is detonation? Should I tell the tuner to retard the timing some more, he couldn't give me fuel map graph so I'm assuming its just because its not fully tuned because of the boost spikes.
Thanks

yeah man my T-25 was hittin 12-15psi easy, first I just bent the wastegate rod and had it open early but was still around 10-12psi. I had to take it to get modified with an adjustable link to turn it down the boost..
If you cant find anything just weld the flapper door shut and go external.

Re: (VTcivicHB)
Im running the same setup. My original actuator was hitting 15 psi. Try www.atpturbo.com they have a couple of low pressure actuators. If not weld the flapper shut.

I didn't see any for t-25's it was all for t-28's. Thanks for the link though, I don't think I wanna weld the flapper shut though and do the external wastegate, I don't want to have to get a new manifold/ wastegate, that gets pricy

I believe if you look theres a 6psi actuator which is the same one that came on my t25 for about $60. Or just by a universal adapter plate and mount the t28 one thats what i did.

I think that its just a faulty actuator, its like the spring is busted or gunked up, so rebending it wouldn't work I don't think.
I fould a guy that's sending me one for 8$ so hopefully this cures it but we'll see. The wastegate is between the manifold and the block so I can't really get to it unless I take the whole assembly off, which I'll do when I get the new actuator.

Yeah, I think I figured it out. It only happens when the BOV goes off and when it is @ 5psi or greater. I figure that its just like a champagne bottle, its got all that pressure getting released at once, its bound to make a popping sound.
