adjusting wastegate to 4psi need help
I'm building my custom turbo for my d16z6 and running no engine management. Now what i here is it's safe to run 4 psi on stock internals with no engine management. The question is how can i adjust my wastegate so that it'll open at 4psi. Or do i have to make a homemade wastegate. I've read that if i extend the arm longer it'll decrease boost but how can it decrease boost if the spring in the wastegate is set to open at 6psi?

Don't run any amount of boost EVER without some kind of fuel management.
You're asking your car to run a ton more air through it while still using the same amount of fuel. Also, without some way to keep the MAP sensor from seeing positive pressure you won't even be able to boost. It'll immediately bump itself into safe mode and you'll get to limp home.

Did you just not hear what I said? 4 psi IS NOT SAFE WITHOUT ENGINE MANAGEMENT.
I refuse to help you with ANY questions when you're back in a week complaining about your motor being fucked.
EDIT: Do you understand how a turbocharger works? It dumps more air into your motor. If you dump in more air without adding more fuel you will get a lean burn cycle. This causes early detonation, which is what destorys motors.

Re: adjusting wastegate to 4psi need help (JDMallTHEway)
it's a turbo off a volvo (airesearch/garret) so im pretty sure it's external. I know it needs fuel management but 4psi is safe. The question is how do i adjust the wastegate to as low as 4psi, I can always get a boost controller if i want more boost. I'm going to upgrade the fuel later on if i want to boost to 8psi. If someone knows that max boost for stock internals is 4psi plz clarify.

Get fuel done first and correctly, then move on to getting boost. Just listen, you'll be happy you did

I'm sure he'll be back and pissed off, claiming it was more than 4psi and that we hoodwinked him once his ****'s broken as well. This will be my last reply in here.
I'm tired of trying to help people who don't want to listen.

Re: adjusting wastegate to 4psi need help (IslandSi)
alrite alrite fuel management sheesh i need it. I was misinformed didn't need to drop a bomb on me. Well, i got these dsm injectors laying around (black head) i wanna use em but anyone know the gas mileage u get vs stock non- turbo. Are they close with these http://thenew.gamesbbs.com/~turbosi/. If i run an fmu would i even need dsm injectors and run on my stock injectors?

You got to pay to play.
If you were concerned about fuel economy, u should have stayed N/A
Just drive conservatively and try to shift before spool up and you should be good
