my friend has a gsx and the turbo took a ****.its a t25.luckly i had an extra t25 laying around.after we swapped them out we noticed that the new t-25 spooled at 3500 till redline.the old t-25 spooled at 3100 at took a **** at like 6000.the numbers on the original t-25 said ar /48 m10 w/l and the one i gave him said ar/48 m24 on the compressor housing.

can anyone figure this out?

The latter years dsm's came with a larger trim t25. I believe it was a t28.

Only on the 1st gens I believe. I think the 2nd gens had the same turbo's. I think mitsubishi went with the t28 around the 1998 model year.

Uh, NO. They all came with the t-2small. No difference in trim or anything.

Maybe you got a 14B?

Yes, only on the 1G's. But all 2G's had the same turbo.

I am almost 100% positive that dsm changed their t25 lineup for the 95+ turbo's sometime in the late 90's.
A friend bought a 95 gsx brand new with extended warranty. The stock turbo blew itself 2 pieces in 1998. He brought it to the dealership and was told that the turbo is no longer available for that model year gsx, and that he will have to get a turbo from the current year eclipse.
It was a different turbo. Larger. Spooled later. Made more power.
