Suggestions on turbo & motor pairing....
Im in the process of building a d-series motor for turbo duty to drop into my 97 civic coupe. Build goes like this:
Port & Polished z6 head w/ Crower springs and Ti retainers and a .020 mill
y8 block with undecided rod/piston combo (probably Eagle rods and SRP pistons) balanced and decked (stock sleeves) and a block guard.
Cam is undecided as well.
What would be a good turbo match? I am new to the FI scene, but I have heard that selecting the right turbo can make or break a setup. The Greddy D-series kit comes with the td04h, but that is meant for use with a stock motor. I want something streetable (since my car is a daily driver) without a hugh amount of lag, but I want something with some potential to push my car into the 13's+.
Help out this FI newb!!

Re: Suggestions on turbo & motor pairing.... (Rydaddy)
most are gonna say search first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
A month or two ago in one of the Sport Compact Car, or Import Tuner or something (they are probably on honda-tech also) had all the formulas to calculate your engines flow rate and what not, then you take these numbers and plot them on a compressor map of a turbo (you can find these online, search) to see where your motor would sit on the map. In the middle sweet spot, then this is the turbo for you, if your far off the map somewhere, then that turbo definitely isn't for you. When you calculate the numbers, you can use different RPM's in the equation to know how well the tubo would do at these rpm's.
check out this thread, it tells you everything you need to know.
