Default Sudden deaths. Happen right after a high rev. more info inside

It started happening today. My car would suddenly die after quick accerations. This happend at a red light, on the highway a few times. It felt like it was running on 3 cylinders. I did a compression test it came out 210 straight across. I checked my oil and it was half a quart low. So I added half a quart and then it ran good for about 7 minutes and died on a turn and wouldnt restart for about a minute. It would turn over and go to about 1k where it idles then it would die. I got it started and it ran normally on the way home, but I didnt push it any. Please help.

check your fuel pressure regulator if u have one the diaphram might be ripped causing the car to run really rich and making it dies after a hard run.

check that

and thats what it was

Try taking off the cap and see if the rotor has any side play. I had a similar problem that ended up being the support bearing for the rotor shaft thing. Also sometimes one of the sensors in the dist will go bad. swap the 'guts ' for some out of a known working one from the junk yard or something. Mine didn't even set a CEL but the car died right after a hard pull then several time on the way back to the shop. LightlyTap the aluminum housing of the dist with a small hammer or something. Sometimes this will cause the car to skip if the shaft or sensors are bad.
