I know the EGT sensor has to be postioned near the head in runner 3 about 1.5-2 inches away from the head... but i just got my whole entire setup all finshed and forgot to put the EGT in to the manifold and it was a bitch to mount the downipe and wastegate so i was wondering if i can just mount the dam thing some where else for now that would give me a reading like in the downpipe but if i mount it there i dont think i should even install one becacuse of the research i did it would not give you a good reading. .. SO IS IT BETTER TO TAKE THE MANIFOLD OFF THE MOTOR AND TAP IT OR SHOULD I JUST TAKE THE GAUGE OUT? ?

I also have heard about EGTS melting or breaking off the third runner and going into the turbo... is this ture??

It was a pain to drill the mani so you're going to have a hard time doing it in place. I'd remove it. I had to go through two drill bits and then a thread maker. You're going to get too much dirt in there.

It's perfect to have it on runner 3 but it's ok to put on any other runner also.

Mine is on 4 and reads just fine.
