Default So....I think my tranny is done......

Was out crusing with some fellow HT members on Tuesday night and got into a few races and on one race I shifted from third to fourth and it went into gear fine, but when I let out on the clutch and then gave it gas it popped out of gear. Than when I tried to put it back into gear it just grinded and now it will not stay in gear. Debating on if it's the entire 4th gear that is bad or if it is just the synchro......

any suggestions???

Pull that tranny and open it up, that's the only way to tell for sure.

it might be something simple like tranny fluid , try that 1st. good way to tell if its synchros is to double clutch it in that gear, if you can double clutch and it goes in fine , chances are the syncros are done. been there done that tooooo many times.

It is cheaper to get a another tranny then rebuild the cooked one . A lsd would be a nice plus for traction

yeah I found out that the price to fix is going to be half of what another one would cost so I figure just get another one and either keep this one and fix it down the road or trade it towards the new one.....
