Default Strange problem with PCV system??

Relax, this isn't another "what kind of PCV should I use" thread

Here's my situation. On the back of my GSR sits the stock PCV black box. One hose runs to a small vacuum port on the back of the block, the other which contains the actual PCV valve normally hooks up to a vacuum source on the manifold. I went ahead and pluged the hose into the block as normal, but whenver I plug the actual PCV line into the intake manifold, the car reacts like is now has a massive vacuum leak. The idle rises quickly and proceeds to bounce over and over and over non stop untill I plug that line comming off the manifold and the idle will drop to normal, rock steady. Like I said though, this only happens when I connect the PCV to the intake mani, if I just plug that port on the intake mani and leave the PCV hose open to the atmosphere, no problems.

Any idea what could be happening? I guess there's no problem leaving the line as it is now except that the PCV isn't being asisted by manifold vacuum durning non-boost driving, but obviously that's not how it's supposed to work, any help would be apprieciated.

The idea is to vent the crankcase directly from the block fittings and eliminate the PCV valve.
I capped the fitting off directly at the intake manifold, removed the black box, plugged the hole that was underneath and plugged the brass fitting directly above it.

I then vent the crank case straight from the 2 freeze plugs on the back of the block to a catch tank with a return line (endyn setup) I have had absolutely no problems with this setup and it eliminates blowby

Heres a crappy pic, if you need a better one let me know
