Stock ITR head for boost?
Finishing up by b18c forged internal block for boost and about to conentrate on the head. I have a stock Integra Type R head. Wondering if it was worth upgrading anything, or should the stock head be sufficient. Id rather be spending money on a better turbo than upgrading parts I may not need. Since the head already has dual valve springs and Im keeping the stock ITR cams, I think i should be ok, but I would like to hear from others that have ran a stock itr head.
Planning in running a t3 60-1 at about 15-18 psi.

I would change the springs. You can get away with stock but the oem valvetrain is getting old and good valve control at higher rpm will be questionable.. Springs are cheap, just do it.

i would possibly replace the retainers with something else before the springs, but overall while its apart its just best to replace springs and retainers. the head will do fine with that 60-1. im running pretty much that same setup and also a journal bearing garrett 60-1.you can see my times and power in my signature

Re: Stock ITR head for boost?
84.5 mm gsr block with a b16 head(itr cams) and ls crank.
the dyno was done with a .82 ar. i have since switched back to a .63 to pick up a bit more responsiveness. i might have lost a few hp up top but picked up some midrange increasing the average hp. i gained 1-2mph on pretty much the same boost level swapping housings.
all dyno work done on a dynojet
