Stock B18C1, Stock JRSC . . . . Does it need tuning?
Hey guys! I've just bought a JRSC from another member here (elpiar) and ofcourse want to install it immediately once I recieve it. My question here is with this basic setup, will I need to go to someone who tunes FI or will the JRSC instructions as far as tuning (10 deg BTDC) suffice for now.
I'm a little bit worried b/c I used to have a stock D16Z6 and ran a stock JRSC on that and I had a rod knock after a month.
Thanks for all your help.

fmu and dizzy retard if you are daring.
Injectors and chipped ecu if you are smart.
Personally... the only option i support is chipped ecu, injectors and a Tune. The rest are just bandaids.

From the consensus, the smart thing to do is to save up for a ECU & injectors huh? Its the way to play safe I guess. I'm just itching to install the SC though. But with the JRSC FMU and Map box everyone here says their just "bandaids". I was hoping I could run this setup for a while until I could save up for the ECU.

I recommend you read over: http://www.phearable.net/tech/....html
Then find a local tuner in texas via the tuner directories listed on http://www.phearable.net/tech

Re: (jbs)
You know you can use the basic jrsc fuel setup if your only running 6-8 psi, until you get a chipped ecu. I used the jackson fuel bandaids for years in the 1990's with no problems. I ran 15 deg. timing with 93 octane, the car made 220 whp @ 6psi like that.
Not the best way, but it will work
