static ignition timing vs fuel management timing
I am running a d1y8 and the static compression is 12 degrees BTDC but my Neptune tune its 16.50 degrees.
Will this advance my timing to match my ignition maps? or will i be retarded 4 degreed throughout my powerband?

Set your ignition timing to a single value such as 12 deg btdc in neptune by using the lock ignition option along with the service connector. Then set your distributor timing to 12 deg btdc.
You will then need to adjust your timing maps to use a base timing of 12 deg btdc & you will need to tune the car.

static compression?

the ecu will think that 12deg is 16.5deg because your 'tdc' set point is physically offset by 4deg retard.

Re: static ignition timing vs fuel management timing (2point2)
static compression is 9:1
stock y8 timing is 12 degrees btdc...
since everything is set at 16.50 degrees in neptune, should i assume my maps have to be pulled back 4 degreed everywhere once i lock my timing at 12?
the timing lock is not checked off fyi

If you were tuned originally with timing at the distributor set to 16, make sure you move your distributor so it's at 16 otherwise you'll be running retarded. If not, go to preferences and enter 12 as the base timing. The maps will change to reflect your base timing of 12.
