d16y7 Ignition timing help??
Just purchased a 96 dx civic with a d16y7 went to get it smoged and everything passed except ignition timing. On the test results it says my timing is set at 21 BTDC and timing spec suppose to be @ 12 degrees +/- 2. Was planing on doing this myself to save cash but dont know exactly what to do and what is needed.
I know the ignition timing is adjusted with the dizzy but how? and how would i know when its set at 12 degress?

Re: d16y7 Ignition timing help??
Followed this procedure http://www.hondacivicforum.com/forum...ustment-16210/ and it worked for my 1996 Honda Civic CX (1.6L I4 SOHC)! saved a lot of money right there and it solved the 1500 idle rpm problem and struggling to idle when the engine is up to temp. BUT cyl 1 and 4 still misfires and it doesn't throw any codes. It has new spark plugs, spark plug wires, ignition coil, and the fuel pump is still good, cleaned the throttle body and cancelled out the need to clean the iac valve because it doesn't idle up and down like crazy anymore. WHAT. TO. DO. NEXT.
