breakage? the only problem ive encountered with them is clearance issues with the counterweights of longer stroke cranks. But you can file the corner of the bolt head and it will clear.

Alot of people on this board plug them because its not needed with forged pistons as they run cooler anyways. I run squiters with forged pistons for the hell of it.

People remove them because they feel forged aluminium disspates heat better than stock cast pistons therefore its not needed and plugging them bumps up the oil pressure, but thats hogwash to me. keep your squirters in.

the oil does not cool the pistons that much. the reason why the forged aluminum pistons keep cooler is because they transfer heat better. that's how the majority of the pistons and cylinders are cooled, transfer the heat to the water jacket. and some people who are looking for the little extra squeeze out of their motors take out the squirters because they create more reciprocating mass, makes the pistons "heavier" which can rob a little power. only real application for this imo is drag racing.

Thank you has all, you confirm my opinion, I think that the guy who broke his squirters, his problem is other one than the oil pressure in the very high rpm.

I keep mine.

here's my two cents. not getting into the whole argument of whether to keep them or not

i had clearance issues with the wiseco piston skirt and the oem squirters. so i bent them to fit properly. You may / may not have the same problem but its something to keep in mind...
