I am having a bitch of a time finding some 7's for my d16z6...I wrote ngk and they suggested zfr7f (as opposed to the stock zfr5j-11, or the zfr6j-11 that I am presently running)...
I think that I'm running 100ºF or so too hot...and I'm running quite rich...
what kind of difference in egt's will one step colder make?

What modifications that have been done to the engine?
If you have a stock engine with no modifications and your car is running hot with stock plugs then spark plugs may not the problem.
If you install colder plugs, the engine will not perform properly and with colder plugs you will run rich because all the fuel is not being used and the plugs will foul. You should only install colder plugs when modifications have been made to the engine.
To gain some performance you can change the style of plug and keep the factory heat range (as in the Brisk style)
ZFR6J-11 = DOR15LGS
Hotter -> DOR17LGS
