solid check engine light
I searched but came up with nothing.
Ecu: obd-1 p-72 running s100b.
I pulled it out of my last car before selling it, everything ran great no problems no cel...perfect...it came out of a 94 coupe.
I bought a new car 93 cx, with a b18c1. The motor is freshly built, it starts and runs (A tad rough, but that can be from several other factors or the cel)...
I jumped the service plug, turn the ignition and the cel comes on and stays solid, no flashes...Any idea's where to start? What could cause the cel to come on and stay on soild and not flash when the plug is jumped?

I'll give that a try. The cel was solid to begin with and resetting the ecu didn't clear it so I tried to jump the service connector...thanks
I hope it's nothing major....
Ever since I went with hondata I havent been able to pull codes whenever I try....so that part doesn't surprise me, the solid light does

if you're still having problems, i'm gonna say its a bad internal connection. one of my buddy's P28's he tried to chip himself has a solid cel. did you do the chipping for the hondata yourself?

maybe one of the "options" selected is not the same as with the new setup? I got a solid cel on my basemap chip from something similar... seemed it was something about one of the sensors turned off that I actually needed on.
just a thought.

SO you had a solid light because you were missing a sensor that you needed or you had a sensor that was'nt there before .....i.e like you had a knock sensor when it was removed from the program?
Update:
So I had the resistor in the ecu repaired
the ecu was tested and worked fine with their tune....So I hooked up the ecu and it runs like crap...even worse then before....I fixed the mixed up plug (AIT plug)......
So I figured since the ecu was tested and came out good I would convert back to stock and change one thing at a time.
I cliped jumper j1, wired my stock injectors back in and installed my hp fuel pump. I installed the fuel pump only because my fpr was jetted for the higher volume pump and I wanted to eliminate the possibility of starving the motor of fuel due to the large return orifice...
I crank the motor over and it starts up, runs for about 3 seconds and dies....after several attempts to start the motor I get a backfire.....Now the motor wont turn over.
I can hear the fuel pump prime but cant verify the fuel pressure...
I'm thinking that either the fuel pump isn't providing fuel or ironically something happend with the spark (my thought is fuel)....I'm about 1 sugestion away from abandoning this project.....Thanks in advance for any advice or help..
